Fall has arrived, and we couldn’t be more excited. This time of the year without a doubt presents some of the best opportunities to watch all of the newest, most buzzworthy interior design trends unveil themselves and unfold – sometimes in multiple stages.
First comes an influx of elements that we can add to our spaces to help create a homier, more social feel. It makes perfect sense, with both the cooler weather and holiday season kicking off around this time. One relatively easy way to accomplish a warmer atmosphere is via the use of paint and wall coverings. That’s why in the Fall, we tend to notice an increased use of richer interior colors – deep reds and greens, and even browns – in people’s homes and offices.
Right after the holidays, the new year emerges. And with it comes some of the boldest interior design ideas of the entire season. It never fails: some of the most incredible and awe-inspiring interior design feats are launched at or near the start of a new year. But let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves… yet.
We’re going to share just a few of our favorite new interior design trends for Fall. Expect to see these in abundance this season – perhaps even in your own space.
Brown, beige, and everything in-between
We said it earlier: brown is definitely a Fall color. But… what’s currently interesting about this hue, is that you’ll probably see it in homes and offices way beyond this season. There are so many colors in the brown spectrum (terracotta, tan and taupe are a few), and you can expect to see more of them popping up now, then sticking around through 2018. It’s official: “bland beige” is definitely a thing of the past.
Fabrics everywhere
This broad interior design category is exceptionally worthy of its own blog post in the near future. Woven items, such as fine quilts and rugs continue to be a popular recurring fall trend. And they don’t necessarily have to lie on furniture or floors. Here are a couple of mesmerizing examples of woven items that have been turned into wall pieces. One other exploding trend right now is velvet. This fabric has the ability to combine a vintage feel with modern style. Check out these examples to see what we mean.
Utilitarian items that double as art
Never has there been a better time to shop for light fixtures. What once use to be humdrum bulbs inside of bland domes have evolved into artistic conversation pieces in their own right. In the same vein, shelving has undergone a similar type of makeover. Take a look at these bookshelves – they are simply beyond.
