Eileen gould is the best contractor ever! She listens your needs and has the best workers. They are honest, trustworthy and great with pets. Jobs are completed on time and left neat and clean. She has remodeled my kitchen, three bathrooms and re built my barn after the woolsey fire. No job is too large or too small for her to complete with confidence and excellent outcomes. Cant wait to use her again!

Years ago I saw Eileen win 2 episodes of the now long gone "Designer's Challenge" on HGTV and noted her contact information. She was local and most importantly a designer AND a contractor. I was pretty sure that would make the remodeling process pretty seamless. I was right. I, like everyone else, have heard the horror stories about contractors. No horror here! Just a professional and reliable experience. Friendly to boot!

I told Eileen upfront, prior to hiring her, that I'm both very picky and want to be involved in the design. She pleasantly accepted all my feedback, changes, and sometimes issues. Eileen and her project manager, Kathy, were on top of things during my recent bathroom remodel. She and Kathy answered all of my many questions and were patient when I expressed some frustration.

I will say that what made me the happiest was the communication as to when the sub-contractors would be arriving AND that either Eileen or Kathy would be there at the same time to ensure everything was on track.

I was picky: pointing out some issues that were addressed immediately. Now that's good customer service. Krisie from Eileen's office was a delight to deal with and very professional.

I'm so enjoying my newly remodeled bathroom and have been told it looks like a high end hotel bathroom and that it does! Thank you Eileen, Kathy, Krisie, and all the sub-contractors!

I’m not sure where to begin with positive superlatives about Eileen Gould. First of all, she’s absolutely amazing. She has twice the energy than I on my best day! From day one until the end, Eileen was available, supportive, honest, patient, and fair. I had lots of questions along the way and Eileen was always very responsive, even on weekends.

When I told my friends what we were looking to do to our home and that we hired a contractor, the reaction they had was that their experience with remodeling was a nightmare. Well, they didn’t know Eileen. This was the no-stress express. She handled EVERYTHING. This was completely stress-free for us. She hired all of the people and they were all amazing craftsmen, super nice and always accommodating. If, on rare occasion, we weren’t happy with something, they came back right away and fixed the problem to our specifications. There were a few times when I needed a fixture or an item and I didn’t want to go to the store to pick it out myself, so I said to Eileen, you pick it out, I trust your taste. I was never disappointed! She has excellent taste.

With respect to price, if not for the things we decided to add along the way and a few things that needed to be addressed that either weren’t up to code in our home, or something that needed to be fixed, our project came in very close to budget. No issues there at all.

I first met Eileen when she was giving a class at the adult school in Thousand Oaks on bathroom remodeling.  I immediately connected with her sense of style and loved her no nonsense approach.  I learned so much from her one day class.  I was very impressed. So years later and I'm in a new house that needs a refresh and the first person I thought of was Eileen.  I got in touch and hired her for my project.  I'm so glad I did!  Eileen and her staff are great, really responsive and communicate well throughout the process.  I felt well taken care of throughout the job.  I also liked that the contractors that she works with, plumbing, electrical, etc. are all well vetted by her and in most cases people she's had long time business associations with.  

My project was a kitchen, bath, and laundry room refresh.  Eileen is a great designer and offered beautiful design and practical advice.  We wanted to remodel with aging in place in mind.  This is a specialty of hers and was especially helpful in our project.  Things you don't even think about like fixtures and lighting that work best for aging hands and eyes.  

She took our dark dingy early 2000's kitchen and transformed it to light, bright and modern.  We love the beautiful (marble) porcelain countertops (I highly recommend porcelain countertops too, gorgeous, easy to clean, looks just like marble)  The backsplash is fun and colorful exactly what I wanted.  I'm just really happy with everything that was done.  From the bigger parts to the smaller details, it all went smoothy and came out to my liking.  I highly recommend Eileen Gould Design and Construction.

Eileen really gets it.  I asked her to come to my home to design and reconstruct my home office.  Eileen came up with a very clever idea for my unique personal items and designed a perfect color scheme.  Her team expertly crafted my home office which I greatly enjoy each day.  It was a pleasure having a designer and licensed contractor all-in-one.

We engaged Eileen for our kitchen remodel and couldn't be happier with the result!  It was a major undertaking that involved removing two load-bearing walls.  Eileen was there for us every step of the way--from design ideas to choosing materials to making sure her team of professionals was on time every day.  Her positive energy and "can do" attitude was such a mood lifter throughout the whole process.

Eileen has done 2 projects for me. She created a cable banister with a metal cap and she redid hardwood floors. My husband wanted the cable banister and while he is very handy was frustrated by the cost and not seeing exactly what he wanted.  He priced several options. Because I knew Eileen from networking we called her and she was able to create exactly what we wanted for a great price.  

When we were getting ready to move we needed oak floors redone. Again the price was right and the job took less time than quoted and was perfect. 

Eileen listens to what the client wants and helps them achieve it within their budget.

My two bathrooms were a bit unconventional; all interactions with her and her extended team of specialty personnel was always professional.  Eileen personally was excellent at listening to my ideas and incorporating my idea into the design style.  Her team created two beautiful bathrooms.

When we were searching for a designer/contractor to make our home “wheelchair-friendly,” a friend suggested Eileen Gould.  Eileen provided a proposed plan which incorporated many good ideas.  Based upon the plan, we selected Eileen. The people whom she has hired to make the modifications have all done superb work, paid attention to even the smallest details, and minimized the disruption to our lives during the remodeling process.  We are extremely pleased with Eileen’s organization and strongly recommend her.

We hired Eileen and her team in June of 2020 to help us prepare our house for sale.  After meeting with our realtor, who gave us a list of items that we needed to consider to obtain good value for our house, we worked out a plan with Eileen to upgrade a guest bathroom, partially upgrade our main bath, repaint the interior, add energy saving lighting and finally, take advantage of Eileen’s great eye for design to stage the house for the sale, targeted for Feb/Mar 2021.

The best way to describe our experience was – EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS.  My wife and I had not done any significant construction on this house, so we were nervous about delays, overruns, quality, and getting the look we wanted.  Eileen settled all of our fears through her positive approach to working with us – always being available for anything we asked/needed – and really getting to know our wants, preferences, and design objectives.  

Here is why – 

1. We met with Eileen several times, and walked the house, she heard our objectives and discussed options

2. Provided a very detailed project list and estimates and a recommended sequence for completion

3. Worked with us to accommodate our schedule – even during the difficult pandemic months

4. And here is the even better part – 

    a.Eileen’s in-house team was great

       i.They were always positive and supportive

      ii. They responded to any questions or concerns immediately

     iii. They took our point of view with all the subcontractors that worked on our project

     iv. Eileen had to even take care of returning some materials which we erroneously purchased – and was able to do so easily because of her strong relationships with the local suppliers

b.All of Eileen’s subcontractors were wonderful on many levels – 

       i.They took pride in their work

      ii. They worked collaboratively with Eileen (therefore with us) to achieve our goals

     iii. They were good people – we were very comfortable having them around for various portions of the work – they even kept working when we left for a holiday trip. 

     iv. They worked with us under unusual circumstances (Pandemic) since both of us were home working and needed to move around in the house as work progressed

c.Also, Eileen’s “Jack-of-all-trades” Jesus was always available when we needed something small but important to be done

d.Lastly, there were no surprises in the budget and the outcome.  We stayed within the budget that Eileen originally estimated with only a few changes that we had requested.

Here’s the best part – we put our house on the market in March 2021 – it sold in 6 days at the above asking.  We were truly proud of the house we presented to all the potential buyers who saw the house.

 Have worked with Eileen Gould for 15+ years.  First assignment was to replace a wood floor that was damaged due to a water leak.  Several years later when downsizing, Eileen helped update the kitchen and helped choose wall colors and new lighting throughout.  Last year,  three bathrooms were updated and we were pleased with the results, as always.  Eileen is very easy to work with; she has a very upbeat personality and knows how to get things done.  Not only is she a designer but is also a contractor.  The subs she hires are also easy to work with and very competent.

We interviewed 13 different contractors before hiring Eileen to remodel our house. She was initially working with an "interior designer" that we had previously retained, but it turned out that at best, she was an interior decorator. We were really trying to give the "designer" the benefit of the doubt because I had a prior relationship with her through my alumni association and we had become friends, but Eileen became concerned because her "design" ideas weren't going to work well for functional and aesthetic reasons. Eileen finally scheduled a meeting for all of us to attend, but the "designer" failed to show up. In any event, when we learned about the extent of the problems, we immediately terminated the "designer." It later came to light that the "designer" had also charged us inappropriately and had us purchase materials at the highest priced stores in order to increase the size of her fees. In any event, Eileen felt so sorry for us and she had been an interior designer before she became a licensed contractor. Eileen took over the role of designer and did not charge us for that additional role because she couldn't believe what we had paid already in that regard.

In any event, Eileen and her crew were very diligent and met their time deadlines. With such a large job, it is not unusual for some problems to arise. To her credit, Eileen always took responsibility for any such issues. In fact, the roof leaked over a year after her roofer had done repairs in that area and Eileen made sure that the roof was fixed properly and that the damage caused by the leak was corrected to our satisfaction.

We were so impressed with Eileen and liked working with her so much, that she became a close personal friend. We most recently saw her at our wedding on May 3rd, over three years after she remodeled our house.
