The mercury is officially dropping to make way for the holiday season and all of winter’s glory. It’s the time of year when we gather with family and friends to celebrate our accomplishments, memories and milestones while relishing dreams of what’s to come. And what better place to gather, than in front of a warm, flickering fire.
The fireplace has long been a symbol of stability and unity in the home. That could be why so many construction companies and interior designers alike are most certain to experience a large number of fireplace projects during their lifetimes. A functioning fireplace can increase the value of a home by $12,000 or more, and its benefits, whether wood-burning, electric or gas, can be felt for decades.
But what happens when you really want that perfect fireplace, but you’ve purchased a home without one, with a malfunctioning one, or with an (“gulp”) unattractive one? Well, fear not: thanks to the miracles of construction and interior design, you are in much luck. In recent years especially, massive strides have been made toward the ease and scope in which these issues can be remedied. Odds are quite strong that you can have the fireplace of your dreams in your house, no matter what.
You may ask, “Okay, sounds great, but where do I start? Do I hire a construction company or a designer?” This will depend on a number of things. We at Eileen Gould Design & Construction, Inc. invite you to contact us with your questions. Here’s how it works:
After a consultation to determine your wants, needs and budget, we will charge a flat design fee based on the scope and size of the job. The design fee includes CAD drawings, shopping time, and designing, as well as project management. This fee does not include color renderings or permits, which we perform for an extra cost. Our payment schedules are easy, as we accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express. You’ll always know what’s going on via spreadsheets and invoices created just for you.
If you’re considering a fireplace, or any other design and/or construction undertaking, we invite you to give us a call. Let’s make your dream a reality. Meanwhile, we thought we’d leave you with some amazing fireplace designs and refurbish projects that will take your breath away.
Welcome to fall. And don’t forget to turn back the clocks this weekend. Until our next post, stay warm!
